Little Red Riding Hood

Lula's birthday is coming up and it is going to be a Little Red Riding Hood theme. I've been planning it for months and I'm super excited. I was laying in bed one night and came up with an idea. Of course then it kept me up for hours! I decided to design a book of the story Little Red Riding Hood that I can read to the kids at the party and then give each child a mini version of it. I came up with a photo shoot concept and today Alan helped haul things out to an abandoned house so that I could pull of the idea that was brewing inside my head. Here are a few of the images that I took today. I'm almost done designing the book, I'll post it when it's finished!

Today's INSPIRATION



I've been wanting to try this out on my stairs but just haven't found the motivation. Well today I decided to "just do it". I busted out my Cricut cutting machine...blew a thick layer of dust off of it and went to work. I'm super happy with how it turned out. My kids also love it...Alan, not so much in love with it. It's not his favorite thing I've conjured up around here. I'm sure it will grow on him just like the barn door did, right?



The railing isn't finished yet. We plan to replace all the spindles with simple white square ones but we're having a hard time finding the right size. Once we replace the spindles, we'll paint the post and rail black (like my inspiration picture).

I've had the chalkboard wall up for a while now but it just under went a few changes yesterday so I thought I'd share.




Last night I finally painted the top of my office coffee table with some chalkboard paint as well. The pretty white top was not holding up well with four kids and a husband who sits on it to play XBOX!

Kids Bathroom Remodel

Now that the downstairs is pretty much finished we thought it was time to start working upstairs. Much of what we've started still isn't finished but the kids bathroom is about done. Time to share some pics!
